How many business days are in a month?
Typically 20–23, depending on weekends and holidays — the average is about 21. A useful estimate: business days ≈ calendar days × 5/7, minus holidays. That’s why a “30-day” deadline and a “30 business-day” deadline differ by weeks.
Common mistakes
- Forgetting holidays. Bank and delivery holidays pause business-day counts but the calculator doesn’t know your region.
- Including the start day. “Within 5 business days” usually starts tomorrow, not today.
- Assuming every country shares weekdays. Most use Mon–Fri, but some regions observe different weekend days.
