How this calculator works

- Wall area = 2 × (length + width) × height, minus openings.
- It converts to “squares” (100 ft²) and applies the siding type’s price.

Common mistakes
- Ignoring gables and soffits. Wall height times perimeter misses triangle gables — measure them separately.
- Comparing material only. Vinyl’s cheap material is offset by different installation costs.
- Forgetting trim. Corners, windows, and fascia add 10–20% in trim material and labor.
